Oneida City Police Department

) Oneida City Police arrested three people on March 14 at about 6:46 p.m. in connection with a drug investigation.
Charged were: Jade C. Parker, 22, of N. Washington Street, Rome and Patrick K. Wales, 30, of N. Washington Street, Rome. They were charged with seventh-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. They are alleged to have possessed heroin.
They were arraigned and committed to Madison County Jail in lieu of bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. They were scheduled to appear in Oneida City Court March 15.
Also charged was James C. Pethel, 37, of Skylar Street, Boonville. He was charged with third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class B Felony, first-degree Reckless Endangerment, a class D Felony, Reckless Driving and Leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident.
He was arraigned and committed to Madison County Jail in lieu of bail set at $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear March 15 in Oneida City Court.
Pethel is alleged to have possessed heroin with intent to sell and alleged to have struck a police vehicle on East Avenue and drove his vehicle toward a police officer as the officer was ordering him to stop. The officer had to leap out of the way to avoid being struck. Pethel is then alleged to have struck a parked vehicle and fled before being stopped a short distance away.
