Hamilton’s celebrates with ‘From Sea to Shining Sea’

(Hamilton, NY- Feb. 2014) Did the Polar Blast, Arctic storm, and temperatures plummeting below zero find you hibernating and dreaming of those hot and hazy days of summer?  The Friends of the Fourth of July haven’t been dreaming but have been hard at work surrounding the activities that you can expect to find during the community celebration.

This year’s theme is “From Sea to Shining Sea.”  As in past years, the committee encourages community organizations and groups to participate in some capacity to help celebrate our nation’s birth.

The parade will again feature festively decorated floats to be judged in four categories (1) Best Theme, (2) Judge’s Choice, (3) Green Theme (renewable or recycled material) and (4) Youth Participation. Organizations involved in the past will be receiving applications in the near future.

The village green in the center of Hamilton will be filled with vendors selling their unique specialties.  Musicians will be featured in the park gazebo, the annual concert at the First Baptist Church and in the parade.

Make plans now to be in Hamilton the week of the Fourth of July as the village fills with people returning from near and far to join together to celebrate.  The Friends of the Fourth of July committee is looking for volunteers to help with planning the events or to volunteer on July 4th itself.
