(April 2014) Assemblyman Bill Magee (D-Nelson) announced that he has secured $16 million in funding for upgrades to the SUNY campuses at Oneonta and Morrisville.
“The state’s investment in SUNY Oneonta and Morrisville will help to revitalize these campuses and create good jobs in Central NY,” said Assemblyman Magee. “I remain committed to higher education and will work to ensure that both public and private colleges can continue to provide a quality, affordable education to all.”
Specifically, the funding would go to:
– $3 million to upgrade electrical feeders and distribution at SUNY Morrisville
– $5 million to construct a campus welcome center at SUNY Oneonta
– $8 million to rebuild the Milne Library at SUNY Oneonta
The funding was requested by the SUNY campuses and is included in the 2014-2015 state budget.
