(Oneida, NY – April 2014) On Friday April 25 at 3 p.m. the Oneida Community Mansion House will host “Historic Canastota.”  Joe DiGiorgio, President of the Canastota Canal Town Museum, will feature images from the museum’s collection including slides of the “Biograph” and of the Village of Canastota.  The talk is free and open to the public.

(Oneida) On Saturday April 26 at 2 p.m. the Oneida Public Library welcomes local railroad historian and author John Taibi who will present “Remembering Oneida’s Railroads and Stations.”  Taibi, who has published a number of books on the local railroads, will use photos, stories and more to show the history of the rails in Oneida.

There is no charge for this event.

(Chittenango) On Wednesday April 30 at 7:30 pm the Chittenango Landing Canal Bout Museum will sponsor a webinar entitled “Music of the Erie Canal.”  Dave Ruch will present the music and stories from the workers, captains, crews, immigrants and professional songwriters who worked on the Canal.  He will utilize banjo’s, guitars, mandolins, bones, spoons, a jaw harp and more to showcase the music from the “horse and mule” days.
