(Morrisville, NY – April 21, 2014) Library Closures: The library will be closed on Monday May 26 to observe Memorial Day. We will reopen Tuesday May 27 at 10am. The library will be closed every Saturday starting Memorial Day weekend (May 24) through Labor Day Weekend.
Share-a-book Book Talk: Bring a book or two (or more) that you would like to share with the group on Friday May 2 at 12:15pm. Bring your lunch and discuss all these favorites! After, these will be compiled into our summer reading list for adults for 2014!
Tai Chi Chuan Class: Come learn Tai Chi Chuan with instructor Bill Snyder. Open to all teens and adults. Best part, it’s FREE! Join us on Monday May 5, 12, and 19 at 6:30pm.
Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones out for our preschool story hour on Tuesday May 6 at 9:45am! Hear some stories about our favorite ladies- MOMS! Then we will make a Mother’s Day card to take home!
Scandals of Madison County Part 3-1850′s-1900: Join our County Historian, Matt Urtz, for the scandals during this period of time on Friday May 9 at 6:30pm! Join him next month as he continues to present day!
Hidden Treasures: Do you have items that are significant to the history of the community? Things like old photos, letters, postcards, clippings, etc.? On Saturday, May 10, from 10 am to noon our Village Historian, Sue Greenhagen, will be at the library with her laptop and scanner. Bring what you might have, we’ll scan it, and give you a digital copy. We don’t want to keep the original and it won’t be harmed by scanning. You just might have the hidden “gem” the historian is looking for!
Kiddies Korner: Bring your preschool children in to hear stories about growing things on Tuesday May 13 at 9:45am!
Library Board Meeting: The library board of trustees meet on Thursday May 15 at 6:30pm. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Library Bingo Fun: Join us on Friday May 16 at 6:30pm as we celebrate “Reading is Fun week!” with Library Bingo Fun! We will have special bingo boards with library terms and pictures on them. Get bingo and you can either choose a book from our book sale or a toy prize! Refreshments will be provided!
Kiddies Korner: Our preschool story hour will be hearing stories about ice cream so bring your preschool child in on Tuesday May 20 at 9:45am! This is our last story hour until October. We will be having ice cream sundaes to celebrate!
Book Talk: Join us for a book discussion on Tuesday May 27 at 6:30pm on the book, Someday, Someday Maybe, by Lauren Graham. Copies can be picked up after May 1, 2014.
Family Movie Night: Join us for Family Movie night on Friday May 30 at 6:00pm. Bring the family in for popcorn and a movie! We will be showing, The Nut Job, a “pleasantly nostalgic” hilarious adventure!
