Open Farm Day

(Madison County, NY – July 2014) With our long-awaited summer now in full swing, Open Farm Day is your chance to enjoy the bounty of some of Madison County’s best farms.

On July 26 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County invites you to take a behind-the-scenes look at your local farms at its 7th annual Open Farm Day as 35 farms and three farmers’ markets open their gates to the public. 

Visitors will be treated to farm tours, rides, product samples, farm animals, and an all-around good time at Madison County’s diverse farms.  Home to naturally-raised beef and bison, pasture-raised pork and chickens, horses and ponies, sweet corn and veggies, pasture butter, mushrooms, jams and sauces, honey, salsa, wine, hops, hard and sweet cider, maple products and much more, Madison County’s farms have something to satisfy everyone.

All you need July 26is an Open Farm Day Passport and a cooler to bring home farm products.  Open Farm Day Passports are available at 10 Price Chopper locations in CNY, in local Madison County newspapers, and are distributed to key locations in Onondaga, Oneida and Madison Counties.
