(Morrisville, NY – July 23, 2014) Six Morrisville State College ice hockey student-athletes have received academic honors from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), earning all-Academic Team and Commissioner’s List accolades.

To be named to the Commissioner’s List, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average for at least three semesters while competing.

AzzanoC13Three earned the Commissioner’s List recognition, including captain Christopher Azzano (Oshawa, Ontario) and fellow teammate Zachary McMichael (Bancroft, Ontario). Both take home Commissioner’s List honors for a second straight season, and are joined by Steven Dol (Ingersoll, Ontario).

SUNYAC All-Academic Team members must have earned at least a 3.30 grade point average for the semester in which they competed during the sport season.

McMichaelZ13 Azzano, McMichael and Dol each receive the honor for a second consecutive season, and are joined by freshmen Alex Huizenga (Grand Rapids, Mich.), Timothy Philley (Rome, N.Y.) and Darren Young (Woodstock, Ontario).
