New York State Fair
(Syracuse, NY – Aug. 2014) The New York Biomass Energy Alliance/NYBEA has begun expanding its outreach and education program through the recent award of $250,000 in U.S. Forest Service State Wood Energy Team funding. NYBEA is at the 2014 Great New York State Fair in the Center of Progress Building with information on practical incentives available to convert residences and businesses to local, sustainable bioenergy.

The incentives are available from Renewable Heat NY/RHNY, an initiative of Governor Andrew Cuomo, providing incentives toward the installed costs of high-efficiency, low-emission wood heating systems, and the NY Green Bank, a state-sponsored investment fund supporting clean energy.

NYBEA Board Chairman Matt McArdle, president of Mesa Reduction Engineering and Processing, based in Auburn, NY, said, ‘The New York Biomass Energy Alliance welcomes the efforts of Renewable Heat NY to catalyze the high-efficiency, low-emission wood heating industry. New York will be a national leader in developing this low-emissions industry and the Alliance will continue to support the momentum that has been building here.’

Evoworld Inc. President Lou Okonski, the host of the RHNY announcement of the first round of incentives on July 29, said, ‘The Governor’s program will give a big boost to bioenergy appliances manufactured in New York State, while helping New York residents and businesses save a substantial amount of money on heating starting this winter.’
