(Morrisville, NY – Sept. 2014) The work of CNY artist Lisa Iannello of New Berlin is on display at the Morrisville State Donald G. Butcher Library Gallery through Sept. 25.
Iannello’s exhibit, “CNY Landscapes,” features 12 works ranging from representational to abstract images which are tempered with a deep appreciation of the natural wonder unique to the CNY region.
Working with acrylics on stretched canvas, Iannello often paints in the plein aire style, taking her supplies and easel on location. Her techniques employ both color and overlapping shapes.
Iannello’s work, which has been exhibited throughout the region, will also be part of the Climates of Change, a CNY Art Poetry and Theater Festival that will be taking place from April 13-20, 2015 at Morrisville, Colgate, and Hamilton Colleges and in the surrounding communities. The festival will explore the meanings and impacts of climate change within Central New York and beyond. For more information about the festival, visit http://climatesofchange.morrisville.edu/.
Iannello, grants coordinator at Morrisville State, earned a bachelor’s degree in fine and applied art in medical illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She is a founding member of the Plein Air Painters of CNY.
Her current exhibit can be viewed at the library which is open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-midnight, Friday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday from 1-6 p.m. and Sunday from 1-10 p.m.
