(Canastota, NY – Sept. 2014) The 2014 Canastota Wall of Distinction Inductees was announced at the Canastota Alumni Banquet held in June. Inductees are Dr. Louis Buttino, Class of 1962; Dr. Mary E. Crawford, Class of 1981; Joseph Fisher, Class of 1947; Gary Tornatore, Captain, U.S. Navy (Ret.), Class of 1967 and Wheeler Milmoe, Class of 1913, (posthumously).
Nominees represent Canastota Central School graduates who have made outstanding contribution in areas of, but not limited to, profession, athletics, community service, business, religion and arts. The Wall of Distinction is intended to serve as a vision and source of pride for our community and our student body. Inductees must be out of school for at least 10 years.
The Wall of Distinction Banquet will be held at the Rusty Rail, on Saturday Oct. 18. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are available by contacting Joyce Gustin, (315-762-9144) no later than Monday Oct. 13.
