Cazenovia library new

(Cazenovia, NY – Oct. 2014) National Archive month is underway at the Cazenovia Public Library, and all are invited to the Community Room on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. for “Meta-What?” Digitizing and Creating Systems to Organize Your Personal Archive.”

Library staff member Elisha Davies will guide attendees through the basics of converting their photographs and documents for digital storage and sharing. Topics to be addressed include the necessary terminology and equipment as well as the procedures and useful tricks to transform your personal archives. Reservations are not needed for this program.

This event will be followed on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. with “Be Kind to Your Documents: How to Care for Documents You Don’t Want to Lose” This program will focus on how items in the home can be rehoused to prolong their lifespan; in other words, it’s time to throw out that shoebox.

The last event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. “Sharing Your Personal Archives,” presented by local amateur genealogist Sue McCullough, is a repeat of her summer workshop in which attendees see examples of McCullough’s work and learn simple and practical ways to assemble their own personal archive.  We all want to share our family history, and McCullough will demonstrate how to make that possible.

Please stop by or call the library at 655-9322 if you wish to attend this program.

All programs at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public.
