(Fort Drum, NY – Oct. 11, 2014)  State Police in Watertown arrested Dalila Colbert, 28, of Fort Drum for setting fire to her residence on Iris Ave, Fort Drum.

On Oct. 11, State Police in Watertown arrested Dalila Colbert, 28, of Fort Drum for setting fire to her residence on Iris Ave, Fort Drum.

Colbert was charged with second-degree Arson (B Felony) and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanors).  The charges are related to an incident, which occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. Oct. 11.

The investigation revealed that the residence was occupied when the fire is believed to have been intentionally set.  It was verified however, that no one was injured.

Colbert was arraigned in The Town of Brownville Court, and was subsequently remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $20,000 cash bail / $40,000 bond.

It is noted that although Colbert resides on Fort Drum, she is not an active member of the military at Fort Drum.  At this time there is no other information available, as the investigation is still ongoing.

This incident has been investigated jointly by The New York State Police, Fort Drum Military Police and CID, and The Jefferson County Child Protective Services Department.  Additional assistance was provided by Fort Drum Dispatch, Fort Drum Fire & Emergency Services, Fort Drum Ambulance, City of Watertown Fire, Black River Fire, and Evans Mills Ambulance.
