EvansC14(Morrisville, NY – Oct. 2014) Morrisville State College junior linebacker, Colton Evans (West Winfield, N.Y. / Mt. Markham HS) has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Week for a second time this season, following his performance in the 41-13 win over The College of New Jersey Oct. 5.

In the victory, Evans collected eight tackles, including four solo stops and two sacks for a loss of 17 yards. To go along with his tackles, he was also responsible for forcing a Lions’ fumble and recorded an interception just before halftime to propel the Mustangs to the win, and their best start since becoming an NCAA Division III member in 2006.

His efforts on the defensive side of the ball helped Morrisville State improve to 4-1 overall, and 2-0 in conference play.

The junior is a graduate of Mount Markham High and is majoring in web development and management at Morrisville State. He is the son of Carol and Kevin Evans of West Winfield.
