Hanna for web(Oct. 2014) The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has awarded U.S. Representative Richard Hanna with the “NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence.”

NAM bases the award on the way Members of Congress vote on issues that are critical to manufacturing in the United States.

“Manufacturers in New York and throughout the United States are making a comeback, creating jobs, making more products and making them better than ever before,” said NAM Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse. “However, manufacturers are often disproportionately impacted by decisions made by policymakers in Washington. The NAM is proud to stand with lawmakers like Rep. Hanna who understand what is at stake and seek to implement policies that will foster innovation, growth and competitiveness.”

“As a small business owner in New York for nearly three decades, it is an honor to be recognized by NAM,” Rep. Hanna said. “Manufacturing has a rich history in upstate New York. I will continue working to see that high-tech manufacturing jobs are created in our region because they offer workers good pay and an opportunity to build a life and career right here in our community.”

Rep. Hanna is Chairman of the House Small Business Subcommittee on Contracting and Workforce and is a member of the bicameral Joint Economic Committee.

Key Votes included in the Voting Record are selected by small, medium and large manufacturing executives who serve on the NAM’s Key Vote Advisory Committee.
