(Hamilton, NY – Oct. 2014) In celebration of the Mid York Library System’s Grassroots Read, you’re invited to a community book discussion of The Dirty Life: A Memoir of Farming, Food, and Love, by Kristin Kimball.  This event will be in the Library Community Room at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27.  Come share your thoughts about the book and themes presented in it while enjoying refreshments made with local ingredients.

It’s not too late to participate in the Literary Pumpkins display and contest! You’re invited to decorate a small pumpkin to look like your favorite book character! Feel free to work alone, with your friends, family or co-workers to decorate a pumpkin. Please do not bring any carved, cut or hollowed pumpkins.L-19-2014 mccmc (Hamilton)

Theses “literary pumpkins” should be brought to the Hamilton Public Library during regular library hours no later than Friday, Oct. 31.  They will remain on display for the following week for the public to have an opportunity to vote for “people’s choice awards.” All pumpkins and their accessories should be picked up before the library closes Saturday, Nov. 8. After this date, the library reserves the right to dispose of any pumpkins not picked up.
