(Oneida, NY – Jan. 2015) Troopers will conduct a Child Passenger Safety Seat Check at Troop D Headquarters, 261 Genesee St. in Oneida on Wednesday Jan. 21.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. to check your child seat and show parents and care givers how to install their seats properly.
Parents should contact Troop D Traffic Services at (315) 366-6035 to make an appointment.
Approximately 85 percent of child seats on New York roadways are installed improperly. State law requires all children under age 8 to be in a child restraint when riding in a vehicle.
Those planning on attending should bring their children with them to the event as well as their car seat, car seat manual and owner’s manual for the vehicle they are driving.
