(Hamilton, NY – Jan. 2015) Have you ever:  Donated to or purchased something from the annual book sale; attended programs or events in the Community Room at the Library; wanted to use the Library’s technology equipment for a presentation; wondered about The Friends of the Library and how they help the Library?

The Hamilton Public Library and Friends of the Library proudly present a Community Room Open House on Thursday, Feb. 5 from 6 to 7 p.m. You’re invited to stop by for a special open house in the Community Room, showcasing our new digital technology presentation equipment, made possible through funding from the Friends of the Library with money raised at their annual book sale.  We would also like to thank Matt Davis at this time, and introduce you to Connie Huang, our new Digital Coordinator.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.  This is a great opportunity to see what’s new at the library and to thank the many groups and individuals who worked together to transform this space for the benefit of the community. We hope you’ll join us!

You can be a hero by introducing the child(ren) in your life to all the free and fun things the library has to offer.  Come visit us on Saturday, Feb.  7 and help celebrate “Take Your Child to the Library Day.”  Now in its fourth year, this annual event is held nation-wide on the first Saturday in February.  Drop by anytime between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to make a superhero craft with Heather Elia, sign up for a library card, and learn more about library services. From 11 a.m. to noon special guest storyteller Patricia von Mechow will share traditional tall tales plus a delightful — and wintry — original story about two everyday heroes.

Additional information about library resources, programs and policies, as well as access to our online services, is available through the library website http://midyorklib.org/hamilton/.  From the website, you can also sign up for our listserv and Wowbrary notices to receive emails about general library news and newly added materials in our collections!  Follow us on Facebook for up-to-date information about programs, special events, and other general library-related information:  http://www.facebook.com/HPL.books.
The library is normally open Monday-Friday, 10am to 7pm, and Saturday, 10am to1pm. Please visit or call the library (315) 824-3060 during these hours for assistance. The book drop at the front of the building is always available for your convenience.
