Caz library(Cazenovia, NY – Feb. 2015) Through Feb. 28 visitors to the Cazenovia Public Library Art Gallery will enjoy a remarkable display of art work: “The 39th Annual Winter Festival Art Exhibition.”

Extraordinary paintings in many types of media adorn the Gallery.   Stunning watercolors of backyards, winter landscapes, harbors, barns, bridges, waves, and more are presented by Tom McCobb, Barbara Favro, Martha Keim-St. Louis, Barbara Bickford, Sherry Wright, Toloa Perry, and Roger DeMuth.

Exquisite oils—“Owahgena” and “Edge of the Pond”—by Wayne Daniels and “Peaches,” an oil on velvet, by Janet McCobb add an distinctive effect as do the superb acrylics by Michael McBane, Olga Diefendorf, E.A. Pilbeam, and Ann Cross.

Pastels are beautifully represented by Carolyn Ahern’s delicate flowers and Elaine Rubenstein’s striking Spanish scenes.  Paul Parpard added a pastel and graphite self-portrait as well as “Hot Type,” a wood and steel assemblage.

“Aged Beauty” by Barbara Wells, “Phantom Skyline Shanghai” by Ben Olmstead, “Chihuahua Kingdom” by Dave Porter, and “Alaska” by Anne Saltman are only a few of the exceptional photographs on display as well as GICLEE compositions “Mountain Glow” and “Cowboy Come Home” by Chris Nevison and “Sunset in Madison” by Gene Gissin.

Jude Ferencz’s magnificent copper art is shown in “Flower with Butterfly” and “Hexagram Mirror” while Jason Law’s “Beacon,” adds a spectacular example of stained glass and wood art.  From the Art Gallery, browse on through to the Reference Room where Naomi DeMuth’s Hi-Fire stoneware bowl and Eugene Doering’s amazing aluminum sculptures reside on the mantle.

The Library Art Gallery is open during regular Library hours: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm weekdays and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturdays.
