(Oneida, NY – Feb. 2015) Lorrie Schumacher, a master falconer from Earlville, will bring to Oneida Public Library on Tuesday Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. live raptors, including hawks and owls, in an after-school program designed to thrill as well as educate the student audience.

During the program, Schumacher will introduce each raptor and describe its natural habitat and means of survival. Then, she will release the bird to show its flying skills.

Schumacher has taken on the mission of educating the public about the important role that raptors play in the environment for ecological balance. Her show, “Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience,” has traveled to area schools, conservation centers , falconry clubs, churches, sportsmen shows and even animal therapy sessions.
