Owera Vineyard for web(Cazenovia, NY- March 2015)  As Owera Vineyards prepares for its fifth season of winery operations on the east side of Cazenovia Lake, there is much to celebrate.

In 2014, the winery received a record-setting fifteen (15) awards, led by its Chardonnay (5 awards, including a gold medal at the New York State Fair), and its Frontenac Gris (6 awards, including a double gold medal at the New York Wine and Food Classic Competition). Owera’s Cabernet Franc, Dry Riesling, and Owahgena Red each took home awards as well.

And, in just the first few weeks of 2015, the winery’s Betty’s White, Dry Riesling, Owahgena Redand Solo Chardonnay have already taken home four awards in competitions held in California and Florida. All this while the Owera’s vineyard lies under a blanket of snow back home.

“Our business has evolved and grown into a strong contributor to Madison County and New York State,” said owner Nancy Muserlian. “Our wines are now showcased and promoted through our tasting facility in Cazenovia, and more than 50 liquor stores and restaurants around Central New York. As we focus on making incredible wine, we are so fortunate to have made lasting relationships with employees and customers along the way,” she added.

In 2015, Owera will expand upon its Café menu offerings to include its own grass fed beef, and an increased focus on serving “farm-to-table” meals from on-site and locally grown products.

Owera will be adding additional part-time staff this coming summer, including some college internships through a partnership with SUNY Morrisville
