Winky Wright(Canastota, NY – April 2015) The International Boxing Hall of Fame announced former light middleweight champion of the world Ronald “Winky” Wright is confirmed to attend festivities planned for the 2015 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend June 11 to 14.

“Winky Wright was a great ring technician who met and beat many of the top champions of his era,’” said Hall of Fame director Edward Brophy. “It will be a thrill for fans to see him in Canastota for 2015 weekend events.”

Fighting out of St. Petersburg, Fla. the slick southpaw compiled a 52-4 amateur record before turning pro in 1990.

Wright won the NABF light middleweight title in 1995 before reigns as WBO (1996-98), IBF (2001-2004), WBA (2004-2005) and WBC (2004-2005) champion.

During his championship career he registered wins over Bronco McKart, Keith Mullings, Sam Soliman, Ike Quartey, “Sugar” Shane Mosley and Hall of Famer Felix “Tito” Trinidad. Retired since 2012, his pro ledger reads 51-6-1 (25 KOs).
