(Canastota, NY – April 2015) From April 8 to 10 nearly 650 members of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) gathered at Rochester’s Riverside Convention Center for their annual State Leadership Conference. 

Canastota High School’s chapter of FBLA sent nine members to the conference. Students participated in general sessions, workshops, competitive events, and served as voting delegates throughout the three day event.  While at the conference, Canastota senior, Derick Trost, completed his term as the state president of New York State FBLA.

Katrina Deminski advanced to the national level in Job Interview by finishing third at the state level.  Derick Trost will represent New York State FBLA at the National Leadership Conference in the Electronic Portfolio event, having placed second.  Rebecca Winchell will be presenting the Local Chapter Annual Business Report as a first place winner at the state level.

At the conference, the Canastota Chapter was recognized as one of the top five outstanding chapters in the state – receiving third place recognition for their efforts during the year.  New York State FBLA is composed of nearly 7500 members in 170 chapters.

Canastota members are looking forward to representing New York State at the National Leadership Conference being held this June in Chicago, IL  Fundraising activities are being planned to raise funds for this trip.  We hope you will support the Canastota Chapter at their upcoming chicken barbeque being held at the school on May 19.
