Nazareth College Announces 2015 Graduates

Nazareth College undergraduate students earned their bachelor’s degrees at the 88th Annual Commencement ceremony that took place at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on May 10.

The following local students earned degrees:

Amber Weeks of Oriskany Falls graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies.

Kaitlin Isabelle of Oneida graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish.

Kassandra Lathrop of Earlville graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology.

Sampson Earns a Spot on Dean’s List

Congratulations to Zachary Sampson of Earlville, who was recently named to the spring 2015 dean’s list at Keene State College. Sampson, majoring in Architecture, was among 1,411 students who were honored for academic excellence in the spring 2015 semester.

To qualify for the dean’s list, Keene State undergraduates must be enrolled in a degree program and must have completed a minimum of six credit hours in the semester, receiving no failing or incomplete grades. Students must achieve a 3.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale to earn dean’s list honors.

Local Students Honored at Morrisville State

(Morrisville, NY – May 2015) Morrisville State College students were honored for their achievements during the 15th annual Liberal Arts Tea. The event is part of the college’s annual celebration of academic excellence.

The Applied Psychology Student-of-the-Year was Susan Miner of Oneida. Miner was named to the college’s Dean’s List eight semesters.

The recipient of the Criminal Justice Student-of-the-Year Award was Theresa Boisey of Sherburne. Boisey was inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma, Mu Beta, the Morrisville chapter of the national honor society for criminal justice. In addition to her academic accolades, she participated in numerous community service events and served as a campus mentor.

The Humanities Student-of-the-Year Award was awarded to Haley Harrington of Madison, a liberal arts and sciences: humanities and social science student who graduated in May.

Named the Science, Technology and Society Student-of-the-Year was Packard York Haynes of Earlville. He actively participated in campus activities, including the Science Technology and Society Symposium Planning Committee and the Climates of Change Art, Poetry and Theatre Festival.

The Utica School of Commerce held its 119th Commencement Ceremonies May 14.
