DSCN5177(Hamilton, NY – June 2015) Symphor!a will kick off the Hamilton Village Concerts in the Park on Thursday July 9 at 7:30 p.m. on the village green in Hamilton. Before the concert, the Earlville Opera House will host an Instrument Zoo for children and families starting at 6:30 p.m. on the green.

No tickets are necessary for these free events. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. This concert will go on rain or shine; the rain location is confirmed at the Colgate Field House on Route 12B (on the Colgate University Campus).

Symphor!a will be presenting seven summer concerts in July with the first on the Hamilton Village green July 9 and the last in Rome July 25.  Lawrence Loh, who officially joins Symphoria as music director in September after serving most recently as resident conductor with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, music director of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and music director of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra said, “Whether you’re a fan of well-known classical composers, Broadway show tunes, great choral works or creative collaborations, this season will surprise the community with all we have to offer. Our extraordinary musicians will perform something for everyone to enjoy.”

The Earlville Opera House will be hosting an Instrument Petting Zoo for children and families during the hour before the concert starts starting at 6:30 p.m. It’s an opportunity for kids to meet the wild instruments and the daring musicians who tame them.
