History logo(Madison, NY – July 2015) The Town of Madison Historical Society invites the public to the Madison historical building, 3606 South St. in Madison for a presentation by Betsey Kennedy from the Cazenovia Public Library Monday July 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Not everyone knows there is a museum at the library. Betsey will talk about Mr. Hubbard, Cazenovia’s benefactor and philanthropist, and how he bought the building in 1890 to become a public library and museum for the community. He traveled to Egypt with his son to bring back artifacts, designed the cases to hold them and created a museum.

This Speaker Program is offered after a historical meeting at 6:30 pm, to which you are cordially invited to see what the society does. We would love new members.  Refreshments are offered after the program. Donations are accepted.

For more information or directions, please call Diane at 315-893-7910.
