Graduation-cap-greenNearly 1,000 Students Honored at SUNY Oneonta’s Commencement

(July 2015) Nearly 1,000 students were honored at SUNY Oneonta’s 126th commencement on May 16, 2015. Students who completed the requirements for bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and certificates of advanced study in the summer or fall of 2014 or the spring of 2015 participated in three main ceremonies in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House. Caryl M. Stern, a 1978 graduate of SUNY Oneonta and president and chief executive officer of the United States Fund for UNICEF, addressed the graduates.

The following area students graduated from SUNY Oneonta on May 16:

Laura Adams of Kirkville graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Environmental Science.

William Alsheimer of Oriskany Falls graduated with a BS in Mass Communications.

Colleen Clark of Munnsville graduated with a BS in Professional Accounting.

Alexandra Dolbear of Cazenovia graduated with a BS in Child and Family Studies.

Heather Eddy of Oneida graduated with a BS in Early Childhood (B-2).

Rebecca Hagmann of Morrisville graduated with a MSED in School Counselor.

Nicolle Holcomb of Hamilton graduated with a BS in English.

Indiana Nash of Chittenango graduated Cum Laude with a BA in English.

Stacy Palmer of Hamilton graduated with a BS in Professional Accounting.

Alison Patricia of Oneida graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Dietetics.

 Silfer named to Spring 2015 Dean’s List

Jessy Silfer, a native of Cazenovia has been named to the University of Iowa’s Dean’s List for the 2015 spring semester.

Undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering, and the Tippie College of Business who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or higher on 12 semester hours or more of UI graded course work during a given semester or summer session and who have no semester hours of I (incomplete) or O (no grade reported) during the same semester are recognized by inclusion on the Dean’s List for that semester.

Area transfer students to attend SUNY Oswego

More than 640 transfer students have reserved places at SUNY Oswego for fall 2015, among them several area residents. Classes start Aug. 24.

Bradley Curinga of Smithridge Road in Bridgeport. He last studied at Onondaga Community College, and plans to major in biochemistry at Oswego.

Tori Collins of Genesee Street in Chittenango. She last studied at Onondaga Community College, and plans to major in operations management and information systems at Oswego.

Ian Dwyer of Boyd Avenue in Chittenango. He last studied at Onondaga Community College, and plans to major in broadcasting and mass communication at Oswego.

Corinne Milnamow of White Bridge Road in Chittenango. She last studied at SUNY Cobleskill, and plans to major in business administration at Oswego.

Kylie Tucker of Race Street in Chittenango. She last studied at Onondaga Community College, and plans to major in psychology at Oswego.

Carrie Eastman of Route 20 in Morrisville. She last studied at Cazenovia College, and plans to major in public justice at Oswego.

Alexandra Dailey of Sholtz Road in Oneida. She last studied at Utica College, and plans to major in human development at Oswego.

Katelynn Miller of Graves Road in Oneida. She last studied at SUNY Morrisville, and plans to major in childhood education at Oswego.
