(Town of Lenox, NY – July 2015) Learn to identify birds by sight and sound at the program Birding Basics to be held at the Great Swamp Conservancy, 8375 N. Main St. in Canastota on Saturday Aug. 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (Rain date Aug.15).
Participants will receive instruction on using spotting scopes and binoculars and how to use the field ID birdbooks.
Then take a guided walk to look and listen for various birds. Bring your own binoculars and field guides if you have them. Some books and binoculars will be available for your use.
