Mad Co Sheriff's Dept(Wampsville, NY- Aug. 19, 2015) The Madison County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred Monday Aug. 17 on State Route 5 in the town of Lenox has been identified.

Lynn M. Kurz, 49, of East Syracuse died as a result of her injuries as a result of a two vehicle,

head-on crash. Kurz’s vehicle collided with a grain truck owned by Pohl’s Feed in Verona, being operated by James Conley, 46, of Durhamville.

Conley sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Oneida Healthcare for treatment and observation.

A third vehicle, operated by Joan Oday, 51, of Canastota, was involved in the accident and received minor damage. Oday was also transported to Oneida Healthcare with nonlife threatening injuries for treatment and observation.

The Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team, as well as deputies and investigators preliminary investigation is complete. Based on witness statements and verified by scene reconstruction,

Kurz’s vehicle drifted over the center line of the roadway into the oncoming path of the grain truck.

Kurz was not seat belted at the time of the crash.

No tickets will be issued and no charges are pending.
