(New Woodstock, NY – Aug. 2015) New Woodstock has a lot growing for it.  From produce to livestock to maple syrup, agriculture thrives in and around the hamlet, on farms and through agribusinesses large and small.  While not everyone in New Woodstock and vicinity lives or works on a farm, everyone is affected by the cultural heritage that is fundamental to people who work with the soil and share the historical roots early settlers put down.

As harvest season arrives, the New Woodstock Free Library will celebrate the people and businesses that continue to define the quality of life and work in and around New Woodstock.

From Sept. 28 through Oct. 30 the New Woodstock Free Library will celebrate its “agri-cultural” heritage through photos, artifacts, displays, literature and information.

New Woodstock farms, agribusiness and farm-related organizations interested in participating in the library exhibit, call Renee at 315-662-3134 or email newwoodstock@midyork.org.  There is no cost to participate.  Being a part of the library exhibit will showcase the participating businesses and raise awareness that buying local is not only a good idea, it’s part of our foundational community values.

For more information on these and other library events, programs and services, call 315-662-3134, or visit online at www.midyork.org/newwoodstock.   Call for a schedule of children’s programs and a 2015 library events calendar.

The library is open Monday-Friday 1-5 pm, Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-9 pm, and Saturdays from 10-1 p.m.   The library is also open whenever the blue library flag is displayed.
