Submitted by Chris Rossi for Hamilton Town Council

(Hamilton, NY – Aug. 2015) The August Hamilton Town Council meeting opened with news from Earlville. Doc Hayes reported on the Susquehanna River basin project. Earlville has been asked to submit environmental assessment forms for this federal water quality study, and will need to hire an engineering firm to create the necessary reports.

The Town Council considered bids on the new salt shed for our highway garage. The Council approved an opened ended fabric covered steel framed structure with a concrete base. These structures are durable and cost efficient. Estimated cost for the project is $332,000, with the potential for grant money to offset a significant part of this expense.

The Town continues work on its future home at 38 Millford St.. The interior has been gutted and is ready for next steps—creating offices and meeting rooms, making the building accessible, installing utilities, and making the building energy efficient. The Town Council has requested financial support for much of this project from the offices of Senator David Valesky and Assemblyman Bill Magee.

After two years of community outreach and hard work the Comprehensive Plan Committee (CPC) is ready to share a draft of the new plan.
