artsView, a multi-arts center located in Old Forge, announces upcoming weekly summer workshops. These workshops are great for family, children, or group activities. Workshops include Decorative Painting: Paint on Pottery, Glass Fusion, and Turn a New Leaf: Recycled Papermaking.

Decorative Painting: Paint on Pottery, Mondays & Thursdays, June 2 to Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon

Bring your family and friends for this paint on pottery class. You will learn beginning glazing techniques including application and using stencils so that you can go home with a hand painted piece of work, whether it be a cup, plate, platter, or bowl. Please note, it will take a couple of days (up to a week) after the class has ended for your piece to be fired and ready to take home.

Glass Fusion, Tuesdays, June 7 to Aug. 30 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Create your own design using various shapes, colors, and forms of glass. Pieces are fused in the kiln, and then slumped to take the shape of different platters of your choice. You can make a square or rectangular platter, or a nightlight. Finished pieces will be available the following week. This class is great for all ages, but children younger than 12 are advised to use precut glass.Preregistration is required.

Turn a New Leaf: Making Recycled Paper, Wednesdays, June 29 to Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. to noon

Learn the beginning process of making recycled paper while including plant life from surrounding View gardens. Add flowers, leaves, and other materials from outside to make your own unique paper. Preregistration is required.
