Norm Dann Cuts Hop Bines for 2014 Madison County Hop FestPotted hop plants are once again available to benefit the Madison County Historical Society in Oneida for at least a five dollar donation. More than two hundred hop plants are ready to put in the ground now. Plants will also be available at the Hop Shop on Saturday, September 17th during the 21st annual Madison County Hop Fest held in Oneida. www.madisoncountyhopfest.org

Hop varieties available include Cascade and “Hedgerow Hops” from the wild stock of the vintage hop yards near Bouckville NY where commercial hop growing was introduced to New York State in 1808. These hedgerow hops are from hardy stock, having survived over 200 winters!
