Players of Utica

Players of Utica presents its 2016 Summer Showcase featuring two great shows written by local playwrights.

First Date – by Mike D. Burke, directed by Stephen Wagner

When David and Zooey decide to go out for the first time, things go well… until David brings Zooey back to his house for what he thought would be a quiet, romantic end for the date. A storm rages on the outside while they try to relax on the inside; however, they’re interrupted constantly by a cast of difference characters, one crazier that the next. Can romance survive the insanity?

“FIRST DATE” SHOW DATES & TIMES:

  • Evening Shows: July 15 – 16 at 7:30 P.M.
  • Sunday Matinee: July 17 at 2:00 P.M.

Teenie – by Nicholas Priore, directed by Art Felshaw

Something happened to Teenie when she was a baby. Unable to fend for herself, Teenie spent 18 years in bed being nursed, fed, bathed and loved by her caretaker, Marion. Teenie’s death sets in motion events that begin to shatter the lives around her — the parents, who have been absent most of her life, the caretaker, and the lives of other children. Even those who look to make some pay for a crime committed long ago are involved. A touching and powerful play about guilt, remorse, redemption and forgiveness. Don’t miss Teenie!
