State Police in Elbridge are investigating an apparent drowning near Tamarack Trail in Mandana. Mandana is south of Skaneateles on the west side of Skaneateles Lake.
The investigation revealed at approximately 3:18 PM, a male was kayaking on Skaneateles Lake when the kayak overturned causing the male to go underwater. The victim was located and brought to shore by residents in the area and CPR was initiated. He was transported to Auburn Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The victim’s name is not being released until next of kin have been notified. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the official cause of death.
Investigation is continuing at this time.
