Kate RolfKate Rolf, MBA, CHCE, FACHE, president and chief executive officer, VNA Homecare, has been appointed to a four-year term on the National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services (NACRHHS) of the Health Resources and Services Administration.

NACRHHS is comprised of a group of 21 nationally recognized rural health experts who advise the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services on ways to address health care issues across rural America. Committee members offer first-hand experience dealing with rural issues in fields ranging from medicine, nursing and public health to law, finance and research.  As a committee member, Rolf will be responsible for helping to analyze key rural issues and for submitting recommendations for possible solutions.

Rolf brings a wide range of health policy experience to the committee. She has more than 20 years of leadership experience, complemented by a master’s in business administration, a Home Care Executive Certification (CHCE), a fellowship from the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and licensure as a New York State Nursing Home Administrator. She is also an active member of several community organizations, including the Long Term Care Executive Council and Selective Services, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) and LeadingAge New York, where she also serves as Chair of the Home and Community Based Service Cabinet. She has received countless honors and awards, most recently the Home Care Association of New York State’s 2015 Advocacy Award and the Excellence in Health Care Award for Innovations in Health Care.

“I am excited to have this opportunity to contribute to such an important body,” Rolf notes. “The potential to influence federal policy
as it relates to rural America is an honor, especially given that approximately 1.5 million New Yorkers live in areas designated as rural
by the United States Department of Agriculture.”
