Enjoy an evening of suspense, intrigue, and satire with director Jodie Foster’s newest film, Money Monster (2016). The Cazenovia Public Library will bring the film to the big screen on Friday, Sept. 9, at 1 and 7 p.m. in the Community Room.
This high stakes thriller stars George Clooney as financial TV host Lee Gates, and Julia Roberts as his top-notch producer, Patty Fenn. Their show, “Money Monster,” advises blue color investors on the best stocks to buy and sell. Gates’ hot stock picks have made him a Wall Street guru, that is, until he promotes a high-tech stock that mysteriously crashes.
Gates and his crew are suddenly thrust into an intense life-or-death situation when irate investor Kyle Budwell storms on set, taking Gates hostage on live TV. With the events unfolding in real time, Gates and Patty must race against the clock to diffuse the situation and reveal the truth behind the faulty tip.
Money Monster is rated R and runs 98 minutes. Free popcorn will be provided.
