american heartThe American Heart Association/American Stroke Association is looking for survivors of heart disease and stroke to tell their stories

Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women, but it doesn’t have to be. The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association is looking for women to share their stories to help raise awareness of heart disease and stroke.

The 2017 Go Red For Women Survivor Class, sponsored locally by First Source Federal Credit Union, will feature local women who are survivors of heart disease and/or stroke. These women will serve as spokespeople for the Go Red For Women movement, which unites women in the fight against heart disease and stroke and encourages them to take charge of their health. Survivor stories will be shared through local media, at Go Red For Women events, including the Go Red For Women Luncheon on May 3 rd , and on social media.

Applications to join the Survivor Class are available at www.heart.org/greaterutica, or by emailing heartofutica@heart.org. The deadline for submissions is Monday, Sept. 12.

Go Red For Women is nationally sponsored by Macy’s.
