CCE-colorCornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County and partners, including Cazenovia College and Morrisville State College, are pleased to announce registration is now open to equine owners for two upcoming workshops.

These educational workshops, held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on October 12th and October 26th, will each discuss a unique facet of equine ownership. Equine owners and those that work with or around horses will benefit from attending these hands-on workshops that will expose participants to best practices in the industry. Workshops are not discipline specific and will be beneficial to all equine owners.

A workshop on Equine Health and Care at Home will be the first of the workshops and will take place at the Cazenovia College Equine Education Center located at 4460 Woodfield Road, Cazenovia. She will discuss general health and at home care. Topics to be discussed include: when to call the veterinarian and what you can do before/ instead of needing a veterinarian to make a visit. We will also cover tips on how to be proactive when it comes to your horse’s health.

The second workshop will be held in partnership with Morrisville State College. The Equine Hoof Health and Care workshop will be held on October 26th at the Morrisville State College Equine Habilitation Center located at located at 4414 US-20, Morrisville.
