Library Friends’ Fall Book Sale

Friday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Friends of the Oneida Public Library will be offering at bargain prices the best of donated books, from current bestsellers to rare finds. Of special note is a collection of American history books. This year’s Fall Book Sale is being held in the OPL’s Meeting Room, 220 Broad St. in Oneida. All proceeds benefit the OPL.

Voter Registration Day

Friday , 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Come November 8 potential voters will want to have their voices heard. During the Friends’ Book Sale, the OPL hosts workers from the Madison County Board of Elections who will register new voters on site.

Yoga for Seniors

Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.

Bill Skinner, a certified Hatha Yoga instructor, conducts a weekly class for seniors wanting to learn safe and beneficial yoga practices. Skinner will adapt postures and breathing exercises to fit the class members’ needs. The class is free.

Opus Black String Quartet

Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

The Opus Black String Quartet will perform music ranging from classical to jazz, rock, bluegrass, Celtic and folk. The alternative ensemble features Liz Friedel on first violin, Juliane Price on second violin, Allyson Sklar on viola and Kristen Kopf on cello. The concert is free and open to the public.

Thursday at 10 a.m.

Children aged 3-4 years with their parents or guardians can join their small furry friends for stories, songs, crafts and activities to boost pre-reading skills.

Chad Miller and His Fiddle

Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Chad Miller and friends from the Central Chapter of the N.Y.S. Old Tyme Fiddlers’ Association return to the OPL to perform a free Harvest Concert with a generous selection of Scots-Irish, Adirondack and Canadian songs, reels and jigs. Local sweet cider and donuts will be served during intermission. Free admission.
