The Oneida Public Library Board of Trustees invites members of the community to a reception honoring former library director Carolyn Gerakopoulos Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the library’s Meeting Room, 220 Broad St., Oneida.
Gerakopoulos, who retired in early September, started her tenure as library director in November 1996, a momentous time for the library as it was evolving from an association library to a special legislature district library.
She oversaw tremendous growth in operating hours, staff, library patronage, programming, electronic telecommunications and literacy services.
