paul-smiths-collegeJon Herrman of Oneida, and teammates won the 2016 Yankee Small College Conference golf championship Oct. 15 in Portsmouth, N.H.

Herrman, a sophomore majoring in fisheries and wildlife sciences, helped defeat Southern Maine Community College the New Hampshire Technical Institute in the tournament final by 19 strokes. The Bobcats’ total was 348.

The win represents the team’s second straight championship.

“This magnificent honor is a tribute to how much heart, class, integrity and pride this team has shown not only this year but since we started our program last year,” said head coach Rod Bushey. “It’s always hard to win a championship, let alone repeat and win two years in a row.”
