A four-month joint investiga-tion by the New York State Police, the Utica Police Department and the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office, resulted in the arrests of eight subjects following the execution of search warrants at eight locations in the City of Utica early this morning.

Search warrants were executed shortly before sunrise at locations on Dewitt Street, Brinckerhoff Avenue, Parker Street, Jay Street and Howard Avenue in Utica. Seized as a result of the execution of these search warrants was more than $39,000 in U.S. currency, one handgun, three vehicles, small amounts of heroin, crack cocaine, suboxone, OxyContin, marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia and cutting agents.

Ako K. Burrell, 24, of 7 Dewitt St., Utica, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.

Kevin Huling, 20, of 2060 Barnes Ave., Bronx; and Daquan Kelly, 20, of 523 W. 143 St., Manhattan; were both arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.

Adrian D. Liggins, 33; and William Liggins, 33, both of 15 Dewitt St, Utica; and Ray A. Mungo, 23, of 1614 Howard Ave, Utica; were all arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Ida M. Loftly, 66, of 15 Dewitt St., Utica, was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Memphis X. Delacruz, 24, of 11 Dewitt St., Utica, was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

All defendants were processed and are currently being held in the Utica City lock-up pending arraignments in the Utica City Court.
