ColgateRaidersMen’s Rowing Crew Welcomes Local Followers; Tour Included Glendening Boathouse, Lake Moraine

Colgate Men’s Rowing recently hosted 36 first-graders from the Hamilton Central School for a get-to-know day at the Glendening Boathouse.

The first-graders toured the Colgate rowing facilities and learned the basics of how to row. They met members of the team, took a boat tour of Lake Moraine and even took a few strokes in one of the Colgate boats.

“It was a fun addition to our fall break training,” senior captain Clarke Cady-McRae said. “We don’t have any home races this year, so it was great to show the community what our sport is really about.”

Sophomore Matt Oakley appreciated the enthusiasm of his very special guests.

“It was great to see the children so fired up about coming to our boathouse and learning about our team,” Oakley said. “We hope to have them back again soon.”
