gerace-michaelOn Sept. 15, 2016, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the New York State Police were called to the Stewart’s Shops on Turin Road in the town of Lee for a report of a possible assault.

The victim reported that a male suspect that was supposed to have given the victim a ride to Rome saw the victim walking on State Route 26 near Stokes Corners. The suspect abruptly changed his direction while driving after noticing the victim, parked his vehicle, and began to chase the victim on foot while shouting at him.

During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Michael J. Gerace, 33, of Boonville. Gerace also possessed a suspended New York Driver License with a total of 18 suspensions.

Gerace was arrested for petit larceny, second-degree harassment, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He is scheduled to appear in Lee Town Court Oct. 26, 2016.
