State Police in Marcy are investigating a property damage accident that occurred Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at 12:45 a.m. on State Route 49, Marcy.
A 2005 International tractor trailer, operated by Russ D. Papaioannou, 43, of Poughkeepsie, was traveling westbound on State Route 49 in Marcy when he became distracted by a vehicle in the passing lane also heading westbound on State Route 49.
Papaioannou’s truck then drifted over to the northbound shoulder of the roadway where he lost control in a snow embankment and rolled over onto the driver’s side.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
State Route 49 was closed for five hours while tow operators removed the tractor-trailer from the embankment.
