Looking for fun and educational kid-friendly activities over the school break? Join Cazenovia Public Library’s Children’s Program Coordinator and Museum Educators for three wonderful events.

Program sizes are limited to ensure quality. Call or stop by the Library to reserve a spot.

Explorer Day – Kitchen Chemistry: Slime on Monday, April 17th at 1:30 pm

Children ages 5 and up will work with Ms. Jenna to mix up a batch or two of slime from common household ingredients. All materials will be provided.

Curious Kids: Make Your Own Museum on Wednesday, April 19th at 1:30 pm

Children ages 7-12 are invited to visit the Library’s new WonderCabinet exhibit and meet the famous collectors of the Renaissance and 18th-19th century America. Participants will learn about these early collections through a fast-paced and entertaining card game. They will then use their newfound knowledge to design and paint their own museum displays. Next, participants will have a chance to take a peek at the Library’s extensive bird and nest collection. Based on their observations, they will use a variety of materials to create “wonder jars”—complete with nest, birds, and eggs—to take home.

Explorer Day – Papier-Mâché Animals on Thursday, April 20th and Friday, April 21st at 1:30 pm

Ms. Jenna will lead children ages 5 and up in a two-day art workshop. On Thursday, participants will form and papier-mâché animal creations, and on Friday they will paint and decorate their sculptures. All materials will be provided. Dress to get messy.

All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public. For more information, call (315) 655-9322 or visit www.cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.
