The U. S. Small Business Administration Syracuse District Office announced today the list of participants selected for the 2017 Emerging Leaders class in Syracuse.
Sixteen local business owners have been competitively selected this year. They are: Stephen Jocz, Best in Bloom, Syracuse; Elizabeth Peterson, Downtown Decorations Inc., East Syracuse; Tracy Foltz, Falk Precision Inc., East Syracuse; Neil Miller, Farmshed Harvest, Syracuse; Sandra Cirrincione, Solvay Electric Supply & Lighting, Solvay; Viktor Klyachko, Green Ignite Inc., Utica; Jaime Sweet, Hartman Enterprises, Inc., Oneida; Matthew Holt, Kishmish Inc., Syracuse; Salvatore Lomedico, Sal’s Pizza & Restaurant, Baldwinsville; Ken Morse, North Point Defense, Inc., Rome; James Bogett, Omnicor Biomedical Services, Camillus; Jennifer Purtell, Quality Mechanical Services, Syracuse; Nate Beck, Rollingstar Mfg. Inc., Barneveld; David Johnson, RP Solutions Inc., Ithaca; Dana Scherzi, Scherzi Systems, LLC, Syracuse; and Erika Perez, SWANK, Hamilton.
They come from diverse sectors, including manufacturing, retail, service and technology. The program began on April 26 with the first class conducted by instructor John Liddy, Entrepreneur in Residence, The Tech Garden and will continue through November. Over a period of seven months of training classes, participants will work with mentors and develop connections with other business owners and community leaders. Upon graduation, participants will exit the program with a strategic growth plan for their business, developed using the knowledge, skills, and techniques honed in the class.
The intense program, providing more than 100 hours of advanced management training, has been a collaboration of the SBA Syracuse District Office with CenterState CEO, CNY TDO, City of Syracuse Office of Neighborhood and Business Development, Onondaga County Office of Economic Development, Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc., MACNY, Onondaga SBDC, SUNY ESF, Syracuse SCORE, Syracuse University, The Falcone Center, Black Stone Launch Pad, UMEA, The Tech Garden and the WISE Women’s Business Center.
