Utica BPOE Lodge 33 recently held an awards banquet to honor three individuals who have been quite active with the business of this lodge.
Our “Elk of the Year,” Kathy Kraus, volunteered to undertake the Public Relations position and then again to also take on our lodge bulletin when that need arose. She does a great job keeping the rest of us informed along with Utica and surrounding communities of upcoming activities here at the lodge.
Ann McDonald, our “Officer of the Year,” has taken on numerous activities in the lodge, is a Past Exalted Ruler, and this will be her eighth year as lodge Secretary plus numerous officer positions.
The third person who is most deserving is our “Citizen of the Year,” Walt Grzesik. Walt is Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 111. He has been associated with this troop for many years and has helped many area boys learn how to become learned and responsible young men. His troop has helped 69 scouts reach the rank of Eagle, an outstanding feat, with the last two being his own sons Walter Jr. and Roman Grzesik.
Jointly we thank these three individuals for contributing their time, energy and skills to help keep Utica Lodge 33 moving forward in keeping with our motto, “Elks Care, Elks Share.”
