State Police in Marcy are investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on River Road in the town of Marcy.

A 2014 Buick, operated by Bernadette W. Millett, 84, of New Hartford, was exiting a parking lot on the south side of River Road turning west onto River Road when she entered the roadway and struck a 2003 Honda motorcycle head on.

The operator and passenger of the motorcycle were ejected. The motorcycle then continued into the oncoming path of a 2016 Chevrolet pickup truck, which was traveling west on River Road. The operator, Ian T. Stevener, 21, was unable to avoid striking the motorcycle and then overturned.

Stevener was not injured in the crash.

The operator of the motorcycle, Christopher M. McCluskey, 37, of Utica, suffered a fractured leg and other internal injuries. Motorcycle passenger Justina M. Purington, 35, of Utica, suffered a severe leg injury and was flown to SUNY Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse.

Millett was not injured in the crash.

The investigation continues.
