The Bridgeport-Lakeport Civic Organization https://www.facebook.com/BLCOCNY/ has organized a community informational meeting for 7 p.m. Monday, May 15, at the Bridgeport Firehouse, State Route 31, Bridgeport.

BLCO spokesman Terry Manning said rumors and erroneous information continue to run rampant through the community regarding the Route 31 renovation project, the GreenScapes grant and the new casino from the Oneida Indian Nation.

The lack of visible activity certainly does not mean things are not happening in the background. The extremely wet spring conditions have delayed slightly the serious work that lies ahead.

Supervisor John M. Becker and the Town of Sullivan Board have been working diligently with the state DOT and the Oneida Nation to capitalize on the significant investment in our community. They will be at the meeting Monday evening with a presentation to share.

Any interested party is welcome to join us; your involvement can make a difference.
